BMO - Auto Finance Portal

Challenge

Automotive dealers were manually filling out car loan applications and faxing them to BMO. BMO had no way to differentiate themselves against other lenders for “Direct Deals”.

Solution

IMC developed an Indirect Lending Portal for Automotive Dealerships to automate the loan application process. We also created a standard workflow for BMO to create offers to address competitive activity in the market and thereby maintain their status as financier of choice for their Automotive Dealer clients. The system featured a management portal for BMO staff to enable instantaneous, fully electronic, communication with the car dealer submitting the offers.

Results

BMO saw a 50% upturn in loan applications after the portal went live.

Insights

Providing an electronic service that links into existing back-end systems (CSR, Adjudication, etc.) meant that the new process was virtually invisible to BMO staff thereby making a new source as easy to support as the main business.
